Who is Abbie Munro?

Abbie is one of Scotland’s (if not the United Kingdom’s) top upcoming female driving talents, with an impressive track record.  Living in the North of Scotland has not curtailed Abbie’s drive and determination to succeed in the highly competitive world of motorsport.

Abbie has been karting competitively since she was 8 years old. Turning 16 years old in 2018, her success to date includes numerous Scottish Championships as well as various Club Championships.  A commitment to a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle together with hard work on and off the track and not least some pure talent means Abbie has the dedication and attitude to make it big.

Abbie’s goal is to pursue a career in motorsport with the ultimate dream of reaching Formula 1 by developing her skills on and off the track.  Moving from karts into single seater racing will be the first step towards achieving this goal.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Joining the Young Racing Driver Academy (YRDA) at the end of 2016, has given Abbie the opportunity to fully prepare for her move into single seater racing. With the YRDA's support and guidance Abbie has worked hard to ensure that she is fully ready both in terms of driving ability and fitness to make a successful transition from karts to cars.

Her recent inaugural test in an Arden F4 car at Angelsey Circuit clearly demonstrated that Abbie was more than capable of transferring the skills she has developed in the race simulator to the race track.

In 2018, Abbie will continue working with Arden and Young Racing Driver Academy to further hone her skills in preparation for an F4 Championship debut in 2019.
